Modern Disciples: Volume 1

 Modern Disciples: Volume 1

I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review!

I found this book amazing, the twist and turns made this book a page turner and I could not stop reading it once I started. The God's that you are introduced make you believe that they could really exist. The main character Ryan had me going through a roller coaster of emotions. After reading so main books with major cliffhangers this book was a nice change! I loved the book and will not feel complete until I know the entire story!!!

I wanted to thank the author for the opportunity to read and review there book, I have already told my friends and family that is a must read!

Modern Disciples Vol. 3:

Modern Disciples Vol. 3:
By: I. S. Anderson

The story is about 6 disciples: Lisa, Jane, Ryan, Angie, Sajaad, and Armand. The story starts in Florida with Lisa and Armand. Lisa is soon jetting off to Japan. In Japan Lisa meets up with another disciple, this time a daughter of Aphrodite. Lisa also meets a disciple of another one of the Japanese Gods. Even though Lisa starts the journey in Japan alone however the other disciples in her group soon join her…

This Story is told from Lisa’s POV this time. Unlike the last book I could really relate to Lisa and her issues. This story brings you in and gives you a better understanding of how it feels to be the daughter a daughter of a God. The story is well developed and I really enjoyed it! This book is a page turn and really draws you in. This book has more adventure and shows you more mythical creatures than the first two. I think anyone who likes stories of Gods and myths will really enjoy this book.

MANGROVES AND MONSTERS (The Stolen Nickel Series)

MANGROVES AND MONSTERS (The Stolen Nickel Series)
by Sharon Cupp Pennington

The story takes place on the Caribbean island of Jacqueme Dominique. It is a mystery type of book, it has a bit of romance, and of course a murder. I did blush while reading certain parts but it was not inappropriate for the scene.

The main Characters of the story are Charlie Cooper (also called Coop), Angeline St. Cyr, Brent St. Cyr, and Kat.

I could not pick just one favorite character as all the characters in the book were well developed and I came to care for all the characters.

After the first book the second was easier to understand what the writer was doing. I liked how it wasn’t just told from one point of view and you got to see in side all the main characters. I was not able to home in on who the bad person (I’m not saying who it is) was and only figured it out as the main characters did. Although I will say my gut was screaming at me something was not right with a couple of the characters. Also Willem Voorhees does make an appearance.

I felt every emotion that the characters felt. Even though I have never lost a child or someone I loved I was able to understand a little of what they were going through, I could feel everything the characters were feeling and it was very refreshing. I did cry and laugh and want to shot someone, so the author did a great job of pulling you into the book. This book was a page turner and once I got started I had a very hard time putting the book down.

I cannot wait to read the next book in the series as this one left me wanting more.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries, romance, or someone who just want a good read!

Hoodoo Money(The Stolen Nickel Series)

Hoodoo Money(The Stolen Nickel Series)
by Sharon Cupp Pennington

The major part of this story takes place in New Orleans. It is a murder mystery with a bit of romance. I did blush while reading certain parts but it was not inappropriate nor did I feel like it was something I could not discuss with my family.

The main Characters of the story are Charlie Cooper (also called Coop), Angeline St. Cyr, Braeden McKay (also called Brag), and J. Sanderson Montgomery (also called Sandman).

I could not pick just one favorite character as all the characters in the book were well developed and I came to care for all the characters.

I found the story line a bit odd in the beginning but after the first few chapters it flowed very nice. I liked how it wasn't just told from one point of view and you got to see in side all the main characters.

I was not able to pick out the bad person (I’m not saying who it is) out and only figured it out as the main characters did.

I could feel everything the characters were feeling and it was very refreshing.

Prince of Dark Ness

Prince of Dark Ness
By: Lizzie Starr

The main Characters in the story are Morghan (who is the current ruler of the Alfar-Sindhu people), Coralie (who is the adoptive daughter of the late king), Pagas (The current high chancellor of the Alfar-Sindhu people, and Adoptive son of the late king), and the last main character is Lucidea (She is an American specialist in forensic facial reconstruction).

The story is about a race of people who can trace their ancestry back to when a Fire Elemental (an Immortal) raped a Mortal three times and she then gave birth to triplets who were the first of the three races. One of air, one of water, and one of Earth. The Alfar-Sindhu people are of the water race. The prince has the American Lucidea come so she can help him to identify the skull. She is not allowed to use any technology and must reconstruct the skull from clay.

Coralie has stood by Morghan’s side since they were children. Coralie is in love with Morghan and always has been. She is like a servant to Morghan and make sure he never wants for anything. Coralie is a half born. With one of her parents being a Alfar-Sindhu and her other parent being a human.

I really enjoyed the story and was left wanting more after I finished the story. The way the prince spoke did aggravate me a bit as he had a very thick Scottish accent. The story did take place in Scotland around Lock Ness. Yes you get to meat Nessie and find out where she hides when the tourist try and find her. The writing is amazing and makes you crave more. The main Characters each have their own issues and it adds to the plot.

The story was well developed and leaves you wanting to know how the story will end. I will say the end is a cliff hanger and it leaves you wanting more.

I want to thank the author for the chance to read her book. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait till the second book comes out!

The Dragon Disciples
By: C. N. Faust

The story also has a set of three gods.
Morre – the god of death he is associated with humans
Saldon – the god of light and life, he is associated with elves, orcs, halflings, etc.
Azrael – the god of chaos, associated with vampires.

The main story revolves around: Pharun, Encarz, Shrukian, Olympia, Raul, Brisha, Felix, Varijin, and Graeme.

I had a hard time getting into this novel as there are so many characters and they story pulled you in so many directions. However once all the ground work was laid down the story did start to get interesting and I came to care for the characters as each added something to the story.

The story became a page turner towards the end and I didn’t want to put it down.

The story was about a royal family and who will take the throne. The story is very interesting and deep. It does do a lot of explaining but once that happens it moves along smoothly.

Twisted Memories - Unbinding Fate book 4

Twisted Memories
By
Colee Firman

Some of the main character consist of the Akori: Addy, Tanner, Remy, Preston, Ryker, William, Lem, Mags, Grimm as well as several other Akori. The Humans in this story are a lot fewer the one main human is Parker.
There are Three different worlds: Tremain (the human world) Graystone (where the 7 main families of Akori live as well as the Sheppard’s) and Ravensbog (where the lower born live and where the fight clubs are.)

The story continues several months after were Chasing Darkness left off. Parker is introduced as the owner of his grandfather’s music shop which he has turned into a half comic half music shop. Parker has become friends with Addy. Parker also knows Tanner, which Addy finds out within the first few chapters. There are also a lot of gawkers at the estate since Addy used her power to dispel a major hurricane at the end of Chasing Darkness. In this story Addy and Ryker have grown closer. Their relationship is nothing more than a close friendship but that doesn’t stop others from getting the wrong idea. You find out that there are 3 forbidden powers. The story takes place in all three of the worlds. Twisted Memories is an amazing 4th installment to the story so far. This installment is just as amazing as the others if not better. The author brings you into the story and you fall in love with the characters. There are a few you love to hate, but an amazing story needs good and bad guys as well as twist and turns. This story delivered and left me wanting more. This story makes you believe that anything can happen. It also has a few shockers thrown in. The ending is very unexpected and I am not sure how the Author will ever top herself. The story is one of the best I have ever read and I love how the author is able to make you feel like you are right there in the thick of things. I would suggest this book to anyone who likes a good story, for this story is amazing!

Legal Affairs Vol.

Legal Affairs Vol. 1
By Sawyer Bennett

Marcy, McKayla, and Matt (Number 134)
The story is told from McKayla’s point of view. McKayla graduated from Columbia Law School, she is a lawyer who is working at a two person law firm that has just been acquired by a large firm. The story is very steamy. It left you wanting more. The sex scenes are great and leave you wanting more! The story is short but it is very detailed. I cannot believe where it left off as it left me wanting more and not being able to wait till the next one is released.
This is an amazing story and it isn’t just about amazing sex scenes it also had a well-developed story.
I would recommend this story to anyone who wants a break but also enjoys a good story will well developed characters!

Modern Disciples Vol. 2

Modern Disciples Vol. 2:
By: I. S. Anderson

The story is about 6 disciples: Lisa, Jane, Ryan, Angie, Sajaad, and Armand. The story starts in Las Vegas with Jane and Lisa. Jane’s mother and patron Freya has a task for her daughter. She needs Jane and the group to find her tears. Soon Jane and Lisa are joined by the rest of the group. Ryan the leader of the group splits the group up into groups of 2. The story then follows Jane and Ryan’s part of the adventure…. From there you take a trip to Florida with the group once they are back together.
A foe from the past shows up. You also get more interaction with the Goddess Freya.

This Story is told from Jane’s POV this time instead of Ryan’s. The fact that it was told from Jane’s POV I think really made this story more enjoyable. This story brings you in and gives you a better understanding of how it feels to be the daughter of a War and Love goddess. This book is a page turn and really draws you in. This book has more adventure and shows you more mythical creatures than the first. I think anyone who likes myths will really enjoy this book. The story is well developed and I really enjoyed it!

The Atomic Circus

The Atomic Circus
By: K. C. Finn

Caecilius Rex & Kendra Nai are the main characters in this novella. Caecilluis Rex is a detective and Kendra Nai is his good friend and Neighbor, she is also ex-military. Cae is a bit of an odd ball that is always wearing black gloves as well as a turtleneck you find out why during the story. The story brought me in and I fell in love with the characters, the good and the bad. The story starts with a murder, and of course you have Cae in the thick of things. This story is very good and I will not say too much as I don’t want to give anything away.

Anyone who wants to read a good story will enjoy this story!!!
